A Place To Grow

After several months of searching the for an ideal spot in the Village, the coworking office concept zWORKS is making final preparations to open on Cedar Street in mid to late April in a building that originally housed the town’s firehouse.

The space has required minimal remodeling to create the work environment sought by Dan Moyers, zWORKS’ chairman and executive director.

Council Supports zWORKS Initiative

With a pledge of support from the Zionsville Town Council, zWORKS is one step closer to creating its co-working and entrepreneurial center in town.

The council unanimously approved Monday night, Jan. 5, to give $10,000 to zWORKS as seed money to help get the project started. Councilman Jeff Papa recused himself from voting since he helped organize zWORKS.

Co-working movement gains steam

Buoyed by the early success of suburban co-working hub Launch Fishers, a group of business backers in Zionsville is lining up support for a similar initiative there.

Dubbed zWorks and billed as Zionsville’s “entrepreneurialism and co-working center,” the work-in-progress facility is expected to open next spring on or near the town’s brick Main Street. In addition to 24/7 access to shared workspace, the organization plans to offer members business-acceleration programming and services.

Coworking the Zionsville Way

A coffee shop may no longer be the only place in town to conduct business meetings.

A group of several Zionsville residents are starting zWORKS, a center focused on entrepreneurism and offering coworking space, hoping it will also help spur economic development and create jobs in the area.
