Council Supports zWORKS Initiative

With a pledge of support from the Zionsville Town Council, zWORKS is one step closer to creating its co-working and entrepreneurial center in town.

The council unanimously approved Monday night, Jan. 5, to give $10,000 to zWORKS as seed money to help get the project started. Councilman Jeff Papa recused himself from voting since he helped organize zWORKS.

Co-working movement gains steam

Buoyed by the early success of suburban co-working hub Launch Fishers, a group of business backers in Zionsville is lining up support for a similar initiative there.

Dubbed zWorks and billed as Zionsville’s “entrepreneurialism and co-working center,” the work-in-progress facility is expected to open next spring on or near the town’s brick Main Street. In addition to 24/7 access to shared workspace, the organization plans to offer members business-acceleration programming and services.

Coworking the Zionsville Way

A coffee shop may no longer be the only place in town to conduct business meetings.

A group of several Zionsville residents are starting zWORKS, a center focused on entrepreneurism and offering coworking space, hoping it will also help spur economic development and create jobs in the area.
